Carat

The weight of a diamond is expressed in carats. 1ct = 0.2 gram

Color

While colored diamonds are becoming more popular, the “color” referred to in the 4 Cs is in reference to “white” diamonds. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) assigns a color to each white diamond ranging from D (colorless or clear) all the way to Z (which appears slightly yellow).

Clarity

Clarity refers to flaws (inclusions) within a diamond when viewed under a 10x microscope. A diamond’s clarity can range from “Flawless” to “Imperfect 3”. The fewer flaws, the more brilliant and beautiful a diamond appears.

Cut

When referring to a “cut”, value is determined by proportions and angles of the diamond, not its shape. A well-cut diamond allows for maximum sparkle, shine and beauty.
